INTRODUCTION
Tamadam is the market leader in wine logistics in Malaysia. We serve many of the largest wine and liquor distributors in the country and chances are that, at some point, the wine or liquor that you enjoyed in a fine restaurant or hotel was handled by us. If you are a wine or liquor distributor who is looking for a logistics provider in Malaysia, then you have come to the right place!
SERVICES
- Storage
Airconditioned or ambient storage
We offer a complete range of storage solutions. The ideal storage for wine is air conditioned rooms at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius. We also have chiller and cold rooms which can store at up (or should that be down) to –18 degrees Celsius but 20 degrees Celsius is sufficient for most of our customers' needs (except for certain specialised wines). We also offer ambient storage for spirits that do not require temperature controlled storage so that customers can minimise their storage charges by only paying for what they need.
Dedicated or Shared
For our larger customers, we offer dedicated rooms. These rooms can range from only 2,000 square feet to 18,000 square feet. Of course, we even have single rooms of 100,000 square feet plus, should this be required...
For customers who don’t need a dedicated room, we can offer a shared room, at very reasonable rates.
Bonded or Nonbonded
One of our strengths is that we are able to offer bonded storage for wine. Bonded storage requires a licence from Malaysian Customs. Duty need not be paid on goods stored in a bonded area. This makes such storage a necessity if you intend to sell your product to a duty free area. Examples of these are sales to duty free shops, airlines, embassies, the Malaysian islands of Langkawi and Tioman or if you want to reexport your wine, perhaps because you have found a buyer in another country or because for some reason or another you change your mind and don’t wish to sell your wine in Malaysia. Also, due to low (overall) costs in Malaysia compared with our neighbours, Malaysia is also an ideal place to transship or store wine whose ultimate destination might be another country. Bonded storage is ideal if these are your target markets.
While much of your stock might be bonded, you will most likely require nonbonded storage as well. This is because you may want to pay duty on an entire consignment to ease paperwork but not want to remove the entire consignment to your premises. We can store duty paid wines as well in our facilities. You may also wish to move duty paid wines from your shop/office to our warehouse if your premises are becoming congested – for example during the festive season.
- Picking
Picking services will be required if you store your wines with us. We can pick by consignment, carton or even by individual bottles. We have dedicated specialised staff in our wine department who can recognise the various types of wine. You can be assured that with their years of experience, and due to the large volume of wines we handle, our stock picking accuracy is good.
- Tax stamps from customs
Every duty paid bottle of wine or liquor must have a sticker to signify that duty has been paid. Spot checks are conducted at entertainment outlets by customs to confirm that these stickers are present – otherwise it is an offence. These stickers can only be purchased from customs. We can pay the duty, purchase these stickers and also stick them on your bottles on your behalf.
- Import labels
Each bottle that is imported into Malaysia must carry the name and address of the importer. Many of our customers insist that these labels are neatly stuck on their bottles. In response to their requests, we have trained personnel to ensure that these stickers are neatly affixed to each and every bottle.
- Stock counts
Every customer wants stock reports and periodic stock counts. Stocks can be checked online in real time using our E-Fulfilment System. We also send stock reports by email. These can be sent weekly or monthly. We also perform periodic cycle counts to ensure stock integrity. After being in business for so many years, and having had so much time to learn from our mistakes, and as we are in the process of being ISO certified, we have clear, strong procedures for conducting stock checks. These procedures are the result of continuous improvement. We have also adopted the best practices of many of our customers. Rest assured, we are confident of the results of our stock counts.
- Shipping
Imported wine is normally shipped to Malaysia in temperature controlled containers. We provide one stop shipping solutions such as:
• Obtaining the best shipping rates
• Arranging for stuffing of the country origin
• Consolidation for consignments that do not fill up a container
- Forwarding and customs clearance
We can arrange clearance of the container once it arrives into the port in Malaysia. This will involve:
• Clearance of the container from the port
• Haulage of the container to the warehouse or to the customer’s premises
• Payment of duties on customer’s behalf
- Bank guarantee services
Transfer of bonded cargo from the port to a bonded area requires a bank guarantee to be given to customs. We have a substantial bank guarantee already provided to customs to facilitate the operation on our bonded warehouse. We are able to allow our customers to utilise our bank guarantee up to a preset limit (terms and conditions apply) to facilitate the bond to bond transfer. This is useful as many customers find it inconvenient to apply for a bank guarantee which will only be used for a short period. Also, the BG is renewable for each trip so it is more convenient for our customers to use our BG. We require an indemnity in the event our BG is used and terms and conditions will apply.
- Trucking
We have a fleet of trucks to transport your cargo from the port to our warehouse or from our warehouses to various destinations. We can provide all your trucking and distribution requirements.
