Malaysian Customs requires that Forwarding Agents be approved by an importer to act on their behalf by way of letter. Each person/company may only appoint (normally) up to two forwarding agents at any one time. In most cases, the appointment of Tamadam as a forwarding agent will be approved by Customs within a week of the submission of the Appointment Letter.
The Appointment Letter has to be completed by the Applicant (i.e. you or your company) on your letterhead. Only Managers and above are authorised by Malaysian Customs to sign such Appointment Letters on behalf of their company. Customs requires TWO COPIES of the Appointment Letter to be submitted.
For our customers' convenience, a copy of the Appointment Letter in Word (.doc) format is can be downloaded here. The file is free from viruses. Alternatively, the PDF file can be downloaded here.
